Smear at 20 move

A Tory MP will today try to force through a new law giving all women over 20 the right to a smear test.

Brooks Newark's private Bill comes after the Government snubbed the Jade's Legacy campaign backed by more than 178,000 Sun readers.

It demanded to cut the minimum age for screening from 25 after reality TV star Jade Goody died of CC aged 27.



Anyone else heard about this?

Hi Lorraine.....Its Claires mum its justto say that I am as we speak writing to that tory MP hope I can get through to him how important it is for the age to be lowered. Its a disgrace that girls are going through this simply because of their age! I am so sorry for your loss please will you let Kirstys family know that we are thinking of them too.
Ann Keen is a lovely woman but restricted by what she can do , I have to believe she did all she was able.

Yes thanks, I'm keeping everyone updated and they know I've been in contact with Bob.

It's really difficult for Kirsty's mum and dad because they havent got access to the internet, so I'm keeping them as best informed as I possibly can. I only wish they could see for themselves the support you are all giving us both on here and at Jo's.

There both in their late 60's and have never had anything to do with a computer let alone the internet.

They have asked me to thank you personally for all the advice and support you have given us, also for speaking to Dr Chris for us, I read his comments to them they were touched by his comments, and what he is prepared to do to support our campain.

Love to you all, await to hear what he has to say, be prepared to do to help.

Yes I thought it was her, I really do hope so it certainly wouldnt bring ours back but then at least our loss wouldnt be in vain, like you said key is determination. What a fabulous result that would be.

Wonder what Chris will make of it?

Bet you'd love to get your teeth into that plank Evan Harris yet another puppet!

I've just emailed newmarkb@parliament.uk and followed Bob's lead.

Sure he would appreciate hearing from anyone else effected by this disease in the pre 20-25 age group.

Have to wait and see now what response he gets in the House tomorrow and see whether we get any reply back from him.

Everything crossed, this age has to be lowered!

Hi,

I have just finished emailing This Morning and GMTV, in the process of writing to the Queen appealing for her help in backing our campaign.

I received a personal letter from him yesterday, where he wrote " he will continue to work hard to bring about a change in Government policy"

It's time for change.
